In Conversation with PBDG: Art In Your Outdoor Space

Art in the garden can be intimidating and often forgotten. Bringing pieces of art to design into that space, it can create an even more infatuating environment to be occupied. Whether this be through sculpture, tiling or plants, here are some tips for ensuring your design is enchanting. Let’s get into it!

  1. Make it practical.

Don’t settle for a piece with no practically. Use essential pieces such as benches or gates to experiment with different styles. This allows you not to take up space if you have a small garden with pieces without function.

  2. Make it a focal point.

Allow the art piece to draw the eye on a certain path through the garden. This could be through a sculpture centre piece or strategically placed plant foliage. Having this allows you to dictate the space in your garden as well.

  3. Hanging art undercover.

If you wish to have an outdoor seating, dining area, play area with hanging art in your undercover space. This can allow it to feel like a more formal area but also experience your beautiful pieces in all of your house.
